SHAPED DISCS & ROUND 8cm DISCS (Mini-CDs)
Shaped CDs are a great marketing idea. Shaped CDs are much cheaper than customised USB sticks, but both are likely to create an impression, remain in the recipients memory, and are likely to be played in their computer.
Anything that could be recorded on a standard CD can be recorded on a shaped or 8cm disc, although shaped discs are often limited to about 50 MB, (1/15 of a standard disc), and 180 MB for a 8cm discs, (about1/5 of a standard disc).
Shaped CDs are suitable only for standard tray-loading mechanisms. They cannot be used in front-loading mechanisms such as car players and some recent-model Macintosh computers, and cannot be used in CD caddies or multi-disc cartridges.

Shaped discs can be printed using either Laserkote labels or screen printing. Laserkote Labels are printed on a 1200dpi laser printer and can be produced quickly. Laserkote printed by CD-ROM Services will not lift or peel off as we use a very high quality label specially produced for discs, and we also apply both accurately and very firmly.
