Copy Protection
CD-ROM Services Pty Ltd offers copy protection and Digital Rights Management (DRM) for both data (programs), PDF Files, audio (Red Book) CDs, (currently not available) and Video files.
THERE IS NO PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL PREVENT EVENTUAL COPYING. All any protection technology can offer is protection against copying for a limited time, and by the majority of users. It is a fact of life that what the human brain can build, another human brain can bypass. Duplicated Data Recordable CDR using Hexalock Copy Protection
For the protection of data discs we offer Hexalock copy protection.
Currently, Hexalock can copy-protect only programs (.exe) and PDF documents.

Blank, inkjet printable Hexalock discs are also available for sale for you to burn copy-protected discs yourself.HexaLock discs are suitable only for computers using the Windows operating System. HexaLock discs will NOT work on Macintosh computers.
Hexalock Usage Instructions
HexaLock does NOT work with Macintosh OS X, Linux, Windows XP 64 bit and Windows Vista 64 bit.
In most cases the CD-ROM will autoplay and open the CD-ROM content. Please allow up to 1 minute for the copy protection to load from the CD-ROM.
In case the CD-ROM does not autorun, follow these steps.
Windows 2000 or Windows XP:
- Insert the CD-ROM into the drive
- Browse to the CD in Windows Explorer (or "My Computer")
- Double click the "Start_Here.exe" file
- Click "Properties"
- Wait for the copy protection to load from the CD-ROM
Windows Vista:
- Insert the CD-ROM into the drive
- Browse to the CD in Windows Explorer (or "My Computer")
- Right-click the "Start_Here.exe" file
- Click "Properties"
- Click the "Compatibility" tab
- Check "Run this program as Administrator" and Ok
- Double-click "Start_Here.exe" and "Allow" the program to run
HexaLock also requires that the user has administrative rights. Most corporate environments do not allow users to run programs with administrative rights. Please contact your network administrator and refer them to http://hexalock.co.il/downloads/ for the Administrative rights utility to allow HexaLock to run without administrative rights.
Duplicated CD-Rs – Short Runs using StarForce Copy Protection
We also offer copy-protection using specially manufactured CD-R from Star Force Inc, part of Star Force in the USA. When you supply your programs we will encrypt the disc on the Star Force Server, and then record the encrypted data onto the special CD-R. The program will not run without the encrypted disc in the computer. The encryption can be done in a few hours, allowing CD-ROM Services Pty Ltd to still offer a same day duplicating service. Discs are recorded on special CD-R recorders at CD-ROM Services Pty Ltd, and are 99% compatible on any CD player or drive. The special discs are not for sale to customers, as distribution is tightly restricted.

Replicated CDs – Long Runs using MacroVision SafeDisc
CD-ROM Services Pty Ltd can also offer MacroVision SafeDisc for larger runs of replicated discs.
The extra cost of adding the MacroVision protection SafeAudio Mastering: $800.00, Royalty Fee: $0.50 over and above usual replication costs.
